Norway, Oslo - May 2012

Today's post will be photo-walk around Oslo, Norway's Capital. I've been there May, 2012. The weather was a bit chilly, but nonetheless the visit to this city was very cool experience, even thought I don't like being in cities and towns way too much. I made the recommended trip with ex-sail boat around the Oslo's fjord and I've eaten fresh prawns from the boat who just delivered them. Also what I liked is the whole ambient and friendliness of the locals. The only way to describe it is to say that it looks like Mediterranean resort transplanted in Scandinavia. The main streets were covered with open cafes and bars and everything was very vivid and cheerful. Something a bit strange was the abundance of statues of naked people, which may be expression of the European Renascence spirit. Talking of which spirit brings me the memory of the strange ally with the slightly surrealistic art of Gustav Vigeland. Otherwise Oslo has not so populated outskirts and in general when one gets away from the centre the atmosphere turns into the typical for a calm Scandinavian town.

I can write a lot about Norway's Capital, but I don't see the point of doing so, because I am sure there are much better descriptions and stories than anything I can produce. From my part I'd say only that I am yet to find city or town that I like as much as Oslo. Below will follow some of the pictures I took while I've been there, enjoy.
