The old Valencia's Zoo, closed in 2007

I found these pictures from the old Valencia Zoo (the link will open article in Spanish), which closed in 2007. It was small zoo with nothing too exotic as far as I could see and at the end seems it was deemed not worthy to be maintained anymore. The quality of the photos is pretty low, but in internet there are not many from that place, so I'll post them anyway for historical reasons in case anybody wants to have an overall idea what was it.

Grey crowned crane (Balearica regulorum), mandarin duck (Aix galericulata), Carolina duck (Aix sponsa) and in the middle, the small ruddy duck (Oxyura jamaicensis) (or less likely hybrid between ruddy and white-headed duck (Oxyura leucocephala))

Greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus)

Ruddy duck (Oxyura jamaicensis)

White-cheeked pintail (Anas bahamensis)
Ruddy shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea)
Ruddy duck (Oxyura jamaicensis)
Canada goose (Branta canadensis) or Cackling goose (Branta hutchinsii)

Yellow-billed stork (Mycteria ibis)
Great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus)

Probably Chestnut-mandibled toucan (Ramphastos ambiguus swainsonii)
Difficult to say from this picture, but likely one of these three species: Brown-cheeked hornbill (Bycanistes cylindricus), White-thighed hornbill (Bycanistes albotibialis) or Black-and-white-casqued (or grey-cheeked) hornbill (Bycanistes subcylindricus)

Emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae)

Ostrich (Struthio camelus)

Plains zebra (Equus quagga)

Albino tiger (Panthera tigris)

Capuchin monkey
Probably Cotton-top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus)

Walk in the Garden of the Turia, January 2007 - Short clips

This video is collection of several short clips which I took while having a walk in the Garden of the Turia, January 2007. This was the very first time I used video recorder and while the quality is not great when looked in 2016, for that time it was one of the more expensive video cameras.

This video has rather "historical" then modern day entertaining value and shows what it was then, shortly after that part of the park was completed

Walk in the Garden of Turia - June, 2014 - Guest post

The Garden of Turia (Jardin del Turia) is unusual park in Valencia, Spain because it is the old riverbed of Turia river. After a The Great Flood of Valencia in 1957 the river was diverted and the dry riverbed is now a green oasis that crosses the city all the way to the port.
The Music Palace

This is a place for leisure and culture. You can have picnic with the whole family, or you can jog or play football. There are sport areas for everyone.

There are many bridges overhead.

Las Torres Serrano

The park keeps you away from the city noise thanks to it's low level.

At the end of the garden there's the Biopark, the city's new zoo. The place offers a beautiful view to the city.
